Clubhouse the New App in Town
When you think of connecting with celebrities what does your mind wonder to first? Is it there Facebook page you liked 5 years ago? Maybe Instagram? Surely it’s Twitter right? Well now when I think of interacting with some of my favorite creators I think of the site ‘Clubhouse’. Clubhouse is currently an invite only app, hoping to open more to the public in later months. As of now though it is for those in making their way into the business. Unlike popular sites where you see photos and worded posts from your favorite director or actors, Clubhouse is a audio chat site instead. It’s like you’re on a call with your creators and you get to hear them talk about their previous work, new creative ideas, and just chat about the industries up and downs. There are usually 5+ people talking in the conversation at a time and as a viewer you just get to join in and listen! It’s like a podcast but live and no script! You can join in and listen to conversations from those you follow or from the explore bar where they have many topics you can pick from to find more content. The ones I’ve tried to engage in are entertainment, places, hanging out and art! And even if you don’t have a big following you can start your own room to engage with others around the world about anything.
Personally, I’m enjoying Clubhouse as it’s a fresh way to start a conversation with artists from all different medias. And it takes away the pressures of needing to post a photo or think of something to tweet, all you have to do is speak. About anything and everything.
If you aren’t able to get on the Clubhouse yet, don’t fret! They are still working on making the app more inclusive in the future. And if you are on the app, who are you following & engaging with the most?
